Peacebroker – Steps in Becoming a Diplomat

Martti Ahtisaari, former president of Finland, is one of the world’s leading diplomats. He has been negotiating in North Ireland, Iraq, Kosovo, South Africa and he ended the 30 years war between Indonesian government and Acech movement in 2006. He has been one of the top candidates for the Nobel peace prize – and is once again in 2007.
Is there still room for diplomacy in our world? At least the world seems to need 70 years old Ahtisaari every day.
